Human Anatomy Atlas – 3D Anatomical Model of the Human Body App Reviews

Hmmm...

An antique and not very intuitive

Lots of errors

I echo some users’ complaints that this isn’t as user-friendly as it used to be — stuttering in pan, not responding to inputs like long-presses consistently, and lack of smooth yet quick navigation. Frustrating enough that I use another app for daily use and only use this for some detail views... which leads me to my title complaint… Look at the profound brachii artery, and the radial nerve in the upper arm, for example. Anyone who has even a basic knowledge of anatomy, can see that this artery and nerve are not illustrated correctly. But this is only one of many, many errors I’ve had to independently comfirm for myself, which negates the need for a free anatomy app, never mind one a paid one. Used to be a great suite of apps to teach and guide my bodywork clients when explaining aspects of their tissue issues. Now Im using an alternative, until the developer gets their act together.

Simplismente Fantástico! Simply Fantastic!

If in the 90s had access to this kind of "treasure" certainly would have been much less. Studied, almost with borrowed atlas because they were difficult to access and expensive. To transport was a terror. Today work beyond legal medicine obstetrics and general medicine. This full Atlas addition is very exciting and fun to be handled. Us back the fervor of studying. Congratulations to the developers! Know and know what we need! Obrigado Tks André

Doesn’t work on Yosemite!

I just updated my OS to 10.10 Yosemite and now, whenever I try to select a strucutre, it doesn’t select. Just doesn’t work! I hope they update the app, so it works again!

Its Good

This app is really detailed and I am impressed with the amount of information that it contains. I would really like it if the bones could be broken down further in terms of the different parts of each bone, the fossas, what each bump and lump is called on the bones, that sort of thing. I would have given it a 5 if it could do that.

Great but occationaly freezes my computer.

I love this app, especially as an anatomy student. It is as close as you can get to a physical model of the human body. The only complaint, which is more of an inconvenience, is that sometime this app freezes my laptop (mack book air). If that can be fixed, I would suggest it to any and every student taking anatomy.

Good improvements but still limited

I like the detail, however I do find that its very difficult to use any images for education purposes, I truely think that a simple "save image" rather than the screen shot will make this program more powerful.

not what i thought

not enough detail for me. im a med student and we are required to know not only the bones but certain features of the bones too. and plus its not user friendly on a laptop it would be great on an ipad though as for as userfriendly is concerned. btw this app does go full screen if your using a macbook hit command + F

Worst software experience ever.

I have never ever in my life purchased a software that had this many bugs in it. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this application. I do not care if these bugs will be eventually fixed. As medical professionals we need tools that will assist us efficently and effectively. This software reflects a very unprofessional developer who clearly has failed to stay on top of their to do list. Several bugs more than I care to deal with. No thanks

Great anatomy app

I bought this app by accident. My anatomy prof recommended Essential Skeleton, which is good, but I much prefer Human Anatomy Atlas. The desktop version is much more useful than the ios versions. The iPad version is good if you’re on the go but the iPhone version is almost useless on the 5s because the screen is too small.

very good

greatttt program.thanks….

An excellent project

That programm is a perfect realization of an excellent idea. Its very useful for medical students. Its a combination of 3D atlas and text-book for you can get a discribtion of any selected element. One of the best features is that you also can fade, add and hide items. Thank you for the idea! Its the first programm of that kind and quality! Grateful customer.

What about adding some…colors??

Its really useful and complete, even if some times I cant find some minor arteries. A suggestion: what about adding the ability for the user to color some parts so that they can be immediately recognized in a second view?? Thank you!

Learning anatomy… made perfect

This app is amazing. Im a medical student and Ive been looking for something like this since I started school. I have an enormous amount of respect for atlases like Netters and Rohens, but this app makes the process of learning so easy. Its intuitive and simple to navigate. The human body is the most complex piece of life on Earth and theyve somehow managed to make "graphical dissections" a breeze. The search feature is golden. Only thing I have to mention is incomplete trackpad function. You can zoom in/out by 2 finger scrolling, but I havent discovered other supported gestures yet. Also for some reason, click and drag to pan w/ trackpad doesnt work. However, keep in mind that all you have to do is press spacebar and move the mouse to do the same thing. Is it worth it? In my opinion, absolutely.

Good Start - Needs Lots Of Further Development

This has the potential of being a great App eventually. Its architecture is pretty cool in the way views are organized and presented. My greatest disappointment however was when I selected Lymphatic view and couldnt find any lymphatics!!!. Sorry guys but there is a lot more to the lymphatics then a couple of lymph nodes up in the neck area and a spleen. . If this was a 10 dollar or less app that might be OK but for the almost 60 bucks I paid for it I expect it to be complete. Well wait for a couple more revisions and see how things turn out but at its current price level it is just way to expensive for its current 1.0.0 state.

Essential Anatomy Software for students, nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals

I have to say, Im a BIG fan of the Visible Body product line. I already have numerous products by this company and they are an essential part of my toolbox. If you need a quick reference for studying, teaching, or explaining anatomy, look no further. Im involved with marketing and sales to the pharmaceutical, lifesciences, and medical device industry and I use Visible Body products on a daily basis. Its a powerful, intuitive, informative, and simply put, a really cool product. After looking at other anatomy apps the rest dont even come close. Visible Body sets the bar very high!

Learning Anatomy.. taken to another LEVEL..

Im a medical student and I know what it takes to learn anatomy the traditional (somewhat cumbersome) way: by multiple atlases, didactic teaching, tons of text and dissecting cadavers.. Collectively these are sufficient, but "connecting the dots" and synthesizing the ideas of where each structure is actually situated, requires cross-referencing text, lecture material, images from atlases and physically finding these structures on a cadaver.. add to that, 4-7 other classmates vying for that experience.. This application is pure GOLD. Being able to rotate the body on all planes, highlight only the structure you want to see, even fade out the rest all whie being able to read information on that structure.. is priceless, and seamlessly accomplishes the "synthesizing" of the aforementioned course materials/resources. You could easily tell, on a 3D plane, where and how the radial nerve wraps around the humerus (arm bone), how each and every organ is situated with relation to each other as well as with all the nerves, vasculature and musculature of the entire body, head to toe. The graphics are perfect with a limitless zoom capability.. you really see how everything is laid out, there is basically no room for confusion. I cant imagine gaining a spatial understanding at a level such as this, with this efficiency any other way.. My only complaints: Lymph system is not complete, needs lymph vasculature -- needs the rest of the brain structures, such as the nuclei (Caudate, etc..), basal ganglia, etc.. -Still giving it a 5 because even without these things mentioned, its an extremely invaluable learning resource that up to now, students have only dreamed of.

less not more

I bought this on the silly assumption that it would offer more/easier than Google Body, which is free. This is less intuitive, harder by far to use, and provides less information to a lay user. If you are a medical student there may be value in the medically correct descriptions. If you are a curious but not medically educated user this is an absolute waste of money.

good stuff

This app is quite cool. I am studying to be a massage therapist and having an application that allows me to move and hide and see multiple things. This app could really be taken to the next level by having the capabilities to check the ROM of joints and move them around to see what muscles contract and extend. ?

Very good potential BUT

lacks muscles such as superior, inferior, medial, lateral rectus (eye) - for example… what I personally looked up first. So it would be great if gaps such as these would be filled in.
